Pitcher/Catcher Camp

As two of the most important positions on the field, this is a great opportunity for both pitchers and catchers to fine-tune and improve their skills. Pitchers will cover:

  • Proper warm-up and throwing mechanics
  • Pitching strategies
  • Pitch development
  • Clocked by radar
  • Fielding your position

Pitchers will also have the opportunity to pitch live to catchers during this clinic. Pitchers will be instructed by UNCG softball pitching Coach Tracey Lynch along with current UNCG players. Elite drills will be instructed in order for the players to take home and develop their pitches and overall mentality.

Catchers will learn advanced techniques for blocking, throwing, framing, calling pitches, stance, receiving, footwork, pickoff throws and the mental aspects of the game. You will leave this camp with the proper techniques and confidence to lead your team from the mound and behind the plate.

Catchers will also be timed with their throws to bases. Catchers will receive position specific skills during this session before rejoining the pitching staff to practice and implement the skills they learned.
