2018 Summer Camps

Team Camps

• Each camp session is limited to 3 teams and registration is on a first come first serve basis.

$75.00 Per Player
Minimum of 10 players and a maximum 16 players per team!

  • The Blue & Gold team camps provide a great opportunity to bring your team to practice and compete together. Each team will have the opportunity to work with UNCG coaches and players in both practice and game situations.
  • Participants will be split into teams for the majority of the camp with competition following skill work.
  • Infield, outfield, pitching, catching and situational defensive play will all be addressed during this session
  • This camp will cover the specifics of glove work, footwork and fundamentals necessary to improve all aspects of defensive play, including throwing and quick ball transfer
  • The hitting portion of camp will focus on fundamentals of the swing. We will introduce multiple hitting drills that you can use for your practices and individual workouts.
      •  Enjoy UNCG's state-of-the-art Softball Stadium and Hitting Facility.
      •  Our video system will be used to show examples and review a breakdown of the swing.

THINGS TO KNOW
  • Lunch will NOT be provided.
  • Check-in will be held at the UNCG Softball Stadium and will begin at 9:30 AM
  • Directions & confirmation will be sent via EMAIL
  • EACH player MUST bring both camp waivers (Medical Consent Waiver AND Liability Release) signed by a parent/guardian in order to participate. Both forms can be found on the website.
    According to NCAA rules and regulations, all camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants regardless of skill level (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).

*Please bring tennis shoes for use in our indoor hitting facility.

Prospect Camp

The UNCG prospect camp is for girls entering grades 6-12 who have aspiration of playing softball at the collegiate level. This 2-day camp will have participants divided into competitive groups for all sessions. Each session focuses on team strategies but also includes individual skill work beyond the basics for all areas of the game, including offensive, defense and position specific work. This camp will include opportunities for pitchers and catchers.

Camp at UNCG will be an all-skill clinic that will cover both the specifics of defense and offense.

  • Participants will be split into age/skill specific groups during camp
  • Infield, Outfield, pitching, catching and situational defensive play will all be addressed during this session
  • This camp will cover the specifics of glove work, footwork and fundamentals necessary to improve all aspects of defensive play, including throwing and transferring of the ball
  • The hitting portion of camp will focus on fundamentals of the swing. We will introduce multiple drills and cover strategies to improve as a hitter
  • There will be ample opportunity to improve over this 2 day camp while working with the Spartans. Current UNCG coaches and players will provide individual attention to each participate to ensure all questions and drills are clearly covered and explained
  • Participants will benefit from the use of video analysis to breakdown the swing.
  • Speed and agility drills will be implemented into camp to improve quickness on the bases and to the ball on defense

  • Check-in will be held at the UNCG Softball Stadium and will begin at 9:30 AM

Pitcher/Catcher Camp

The UNCG Coaching staff will be holding a pitching and catching camp this summer. This is a great opportunity to learn new drills and build on technique that will elevate your game!

  • Participants will be grouped by age/skill level during camp Additional Information: Players are encouraged to bring their own equipment.
  • Pitchers are not required to bring their own catcher. Catchers are not required to bring their own pitcher.
